Andy. AKA: Pom. He's been working here for a number of months now, and even though it takes him at least half an hour to figure out where he is in the morning, us animals don't judge. It can take me all day to wake up from my nap, so hey, whatever. Pom seems to like me, but I'm not sure if that's cause he's looking for a snack for his Boa Constrictor or not ... he really might be more of a dog person.
Humans are always looking for clever places to put up stickers and hide them all around town. Keep your eyes peeled for hidden Landyachtz stickers around Vancouver. Pop by the shop if you want to get in on some sneaky Ninja Style Sticker action and we'll hook you up with a fat stack to plaster in any creative spot you find. If you are an out of towner (who lives in Canada) send us a self addressed stamped envelope and we'll send you some ammo to cover your home town. If you're from somewhere other than Canada, send us 2-3 American dollar bills, and we'll take care of the rest. If you spot, or make your own stealth sicker bomb, snap a pic and email it to rocky.the.doggy@gmail.com and if its sweet enough i'll post it on the blog.
Address for out of town Ninjas to mail envelopes to: Landyachtz Longboards 1221 Glen Dr. Vancouver BC V6A 3M8
This Sunday afternoon at 4:20pm (what an odd meeting time) many longboarders will be meeting at the Big tree, where i like to mark my territory, at Beach and Thurlow. The humans are getting really excited about this one...I hear hundreds are planning on showing up and pushing these longboard devices around in a big circle. I'm wagging my tail for it and hope my best friend will take me with him so I can get some exercise and love....Come join us and if you see me give me a scratch and a rub.
Don't worry I haven't either. Though I think that might have something to do with the fact that I don't know how to skateboard. His name is Tate... but everyone here calls him TACO for some reason. He once found a box of Affrican Safari in an alley, so you can bet he's ready for the impending zombie apocalypse. He loves living/skating in vancouver and always scratches me in the right spot when I've got an itch. He's finishing work right MEOW, so I'm going to go get some before he leaves.
... it's the way to be. Last week Meatball bought me some high quality grub, and my tummy has never been happier. I have more energy, I'm feeling friskier than ever, and would you look how nice my coat is looking. This may have something to do with my new brush, or maybe the delicious fish oil, but who knows... I'm a cat not a scientist. Now if I could only learn how to skateboard like these humans do....
The latest batch of Grizzlys came in. And wow, look at the size of those bushing seats. You'll be able to shred with whichever bushings you desire and hangar slippage will be a thing of the past. Also check out those new black pumpkins, softer then orange, and harder then yellow. These are the sweet spot.
He spends his day, sitting at his desk, shedding the gnar on the internet, and answering your questions on the phone. Good thing he's got some goggles to protect him from all that gnar. He skates, he skims and he snowboards, but if that isn't enough for you, tough luck, cause he doesn't care what you think. Unless you're buying the beer.
The Cat keeps posting Landyachtz staff bios up on the blog so this week I decided to take matters into my own paws. My name is Rocky and I'm the doggy with the lowdown around here. I spend my time roaming the shop, using my keen sense of smell to find treats, eavesdropping on insider conversations and get a lot of attention because im so darn cute. Come by and give me a tummy rub or a scratch behind my ear.
Pants (aka. Andy) He is one of the many that work here. He busts his butt everyday so that your gear will ship on time. His hands are very strong and he gives the best kitty rub downs around. In fact I wish he lived at the factory so he could pet me all the time. He's the resident tech support guru.... so if you have a problem... Yo, he'll solve it. Now check out his switch drift, while this kitty revolves it.
.... and now he's headed to Europe, so look out. His name is Adam Yates , or "Yatesy" and he shreds harder than the paper shredder that I almost got my tail stuck in yesterday. He's been working here at the factory for a bunch of months now, and I'm going to miss him while he's on his trip... You know, one less set of hands for heavy petting. It's a shame he shaved his moustache, but at least his skullet is still going strong. He leaves on Friday and will bring Europe wonderful things like shake face and "two more pitchers of beer please". Be on the look out for him at the IGSA events over the next month, and if you see him remember to let him know how good he looked with a moustache... and be sure to tell him to... Get Some!
Look at the New Venom Shocker wheels. I keep hearing these humans talking about Venom Bushings and how great they feel. I went up to these new wheels and gave them a sniff and a lick and i can't see what the big deal is all about, but hey I'm just a dog with a blog.
Chances are if you've called the factory the voice on the other end of the line is Manuela or Manny for short. She joined the Landyachtz team a few months ago and keeps us on our paws everyday. Manny makes music...beautiful music, so if you ever get the chance to check her out do it...and buy the lady a drink well you're at it. Go to her myspace now fools! Also, give her a call at the shop 778.785.6855 and distract her from her work!
Check out the Landyachtz Sales team in their fresh thuggin' hats. John over at Street Swell boards sent the hats over and I think that these cats look fresh rockin their new head gear. Look how happy free swag makes these crazy humans. Apparently beards are the new black...these humans really confuse me.
I'm very happy that I haven't encountered any of these strange creatures here at the factory. The fact that such a small rodent could be so agile is terrifying.
So the cat cornered me the other day and let me in on his little plan to spy on whats happening at the Landy factory. My best friend Meatball brings me to work with him all the time and the humans really like me so i've got an in. I've never really payed much attention to whats going on here because im always rummaging around for empty grip tubes to bring to my office and chew on. I also spend alot of my day making the rounds to get some heavy petting. I plan on using my keen doggy nose to sniff out some insider info. Alright... time to go dig up an old bone i burried in the court yard a few months ago.
Talk about a doggy invasion... both Rocky and Rosie rolled into the shop this morning, So I think I'll be making myself scarce. She may look cute, but I heard on the street that she's kitty killer. I'm going to spend my day over at the pound teasing the dogs. They're at least in cages, so I should have no troubles.
