This past weekend, Wes Sampson, Erik Ware, and many volunteers, made the first annual Mount Washington Downhill Longboard Race a huge success. Despite the ski resort managements attempt to torpedo the event (through an extremely uninformed and disrespectful article published in one of the local papers), it went off without a hitch. The fact that the propaganda piece (masquerading as ethical reporting) made no mention of all the deaths that occur at the resort every winter is quite telling. Also, Marcel Tetrault, maybe a little research next time would be in order, seeing as this is your job we’re talking about. All concerned parties (RCMP, and Department of Transportation) were happy with the results of the event, and it is sure to only get bigger in the years to come. So Peter Gibson, this kitty is calling you out, it’s time to get on board.

Wow. What a biased article. We longboard the road up Grand Targhee all the time and always follow the protocols to keep it safe. Stick to the right lane, driver behind to alert us when another car is coming, throw some slides and pull over to the side to let them pass . . . we respect the road and cars so we can keep longboarding. We don’t board willy nilly all over the place. I’m sure the riders who practiced for the race did the same. Why didn’t Tetrault bother to interview anyone involved in the race?
