Field Report : Palm Trees & Pits

DAYS 13-16

What a great weekend of racing. Theres gonna be so many great stories that come from the final race at Mt Panorama's Newtons Nation. Basically for me to sum it up in one word is just too hard. Great times, great mates, great memories. I think the boys were in the right frame of mind after a pretty exciting and somewhat relaxing tour to date. The results speak for themselves. Both Kyle and Dillon made the top 10 and raced off for the $1000 to no avail. JoshE qualified well. Racing saw an interesting format with a double elimination bracket and at the end of the day Kyle and Dillon raced each other in the consolation final and finished 7th and 8th. I am stoked to have finished 10th and best ozzi in the event. JoshE finished down the field in 25th which is very respectable still with the amount of quality riders and fierce battles that went on on the day.

The party was something else, well from what i can remember. Heelside threw down free booze and it doesn't take a scientist to work out that a tiny room packed with sk8rs frothing on the adrenalin from an epic weekend, that shit got crazy pretty damn fast. We had boxing gloves for the peeps who wanted to fight, we had beats for the punters that wanted to dance and we had plenty of free beer. There was table stair surfing and our own Guff took out 1st and 3rd? Work that one out? Great way to finish a great weekend.

Woke still drunk. Said our see ya's and helped clean up the mess. We had a long drive ahead of us today and to get on the road at a reasonable time was key. This was to be the end of the Palm Trees and Pits tour for Striker. Its hard to imagine that he's not gonna be here for the last 10 days of the tour. He's gotta get back and prep for Danger Bay. Its hectic for him but he's got it covered. Good man. We'll miss ya mate, and bra, thank you for everything that u brought to the tour. It wouldn't have been right not to have u part of it all man. Team bonding at its best. Love ya!

Drove 4 hours to Woolongong and the home of Mt Kiera. Its a great afternoon and the boys are stoked to be back on the coast. I love the salt air/water. I need it in my life. Dunno wat it is but i guess its just cleansing and i guess the boys feel the same way. We've been spending so much time down the coast over the last 2 weeks they now have the beach bug and a serious tan. We hang out all aft at Port Kemble, an old military barracks from 1820's, Sk8 a little, take some happy snaps and have a small adventure down into the barracks and the underground tunnels. I love a good adventure!

Drive up to the base of Mt Kiera, have dinner, chicken rolls for me and Guff. Watch a movie on our in house DVD player and wind down. Its been a massive day. I think i can speak for the RV on this one, count in plenty of deep ZZZZZZ's tonyt!
