Field Report : Ntence Decentz Tour 2013

Day 1. Auckland heading North.

Epic. feels so good to be back in the land of the long white cloud about to get rad on the fine curves the North Island has to offer. Its to be a smaller group of rad lads and a far cry from last years 20 odd. We got 11 crew from all round the planet. Matt k, Gabe, Bondy, Speedy, Kam, Api, The Chad, Jacob and two new friends to add to the ever growin family, Gavin from Calgary and Jordan from Albany, and myself. Good times are just around the corner…..literaly!

The van that we are using this year is a Mercedes TD, seats 14 and is comfy as to lurk in on the way to the hills. Its gonna be a long 5 hour drive up the North Cape to  Mungamuka. Sit back and get our chill on was the call. There wasn't too much sleep last night, i guess the anticipation of the adventure had us sleeping lightly. Good thing it was a long drive, plenty of time to chill.

Arriving at the base of the southern side, eager eyes pry the front windscreen and jaws start to drop. Even for those of us on the tour last year, it still amazed us at how much camber was in the turns. the pavement was as good if not better after 12 months of traffic. The joint is just off the hook in the craziest way.

Everything came back pretty soon after rollin in for the first time. The smells. The speeds. The leaning corners. The features.  Po dawg road kill. Nature! Theres not too many out there offering the same as  the 'Mukas'. Coupla runs in we went to get some grub to fuel these athletic units of ours! Lunch and a lurk in town at the sk8 park can always offer some excitement too. Heavy gang scene in this area of the North. U wouldn't know it? Back to the boarding and the arvy was filled with stoke. Filming, mobbing, lurking, styling. Watever ya felt like, all were getting rad.
With heaps of light left in the day and totally spent from a days traveling and shralping went and got the ingredients for the mondo cook up from hell. Spag Bol! Stuffed and looking back on the day and I'm stoked to say that I'm really looking forward to the next 2 weeks here, doin what we do, with such a great bunch of blokes. Ntence Dcentz 2013 is gonna be rad. Stay tuned for frothin updates.
