Field Report : GP Offshore

6am wake up... 9 skaters, 5 camera guys, 2 drivers... everyone running  around each other organizing gear for the day. We pile into the van and take off to the north.
After the hour or two drive (plus a little extra shut eye), we were at the top on a mountain range looking down the longest snake I've ever seen.  With everything from hairpins and fast straights, to technical sweepers. This road had a monstrous array of corners, with the smoothest most predictable pavement. We had some gnarly pack runs shoulder to shoulder flying through corners, smiles all the way down. Ditching that spot after a couple quick runs we head to another hill... after all, this was our warm up.

Now back in the vans, stoked as a kid in a candy store with a credit card, blasting tunes and ripping to the next spot.

As we crest the peak of the mountain there is clouds blasting over us, and we see a road that none of us believe. Our jaws dropped... and a few of us wet ourselves (you would've too).  She sits one lane wide with JUST enough room to have cars pass, too many corners too count too much road to comprehend. We skated it... hard!
After all that madness we needed lunch. what better way than a "cool down" run through a small town... a wider road, more visible corners, fast and fun, we ripped through the town so fast we passed all the lunch spots without realizing, so we kept skating to the next town... all downhill all the way.
Wandering about town on full stomachs we happened upon something insane. Just around the corner from the food joint we see a wall... walking up that walll was a feat on full stomachs... and looking down the road, i wished i was full of helium. slide, slide, slide... that's all you can do. and all we did.. slide to survive.
After a long day of skating the sun was sinking behind the other island. and we knew it was time to rest and reflect... We pilled back into the car with smiles and tired  bodies. the drive back was long and relaxing as we looked through photos, vids and gazed out the windows like zombies.
On our last night on the island we all hungout, and a couple of us even got tattoos. We had the most epic sunset showing us off. We were all sad to leave this skate heaven with it's dream roads, but we have to get on to the next adventure... The next road, some new terrain, in another dream world.
Catch yea later! And don't forget to skate everything! -Max Gradmiller
